Sewing Machine Mechanics For Supervisors

This short course is designed for Supervisors and Team Leaders working on an Assembly Line in a Clothing Manufacturing Plant. This training course will equip Supervisors and Team Leaders with basic sewing machine repair and maintenance skills and knowledge required to minimise machine downtime in a production environment. The aim of this short course is to ensure that Supervisors are better equipped to resolve basic mechanical problems.

 

Learning Outcomes:

 

  1. Conduct fault finding and rectify common faults on the Lockstitch Sewing Machine, Overlock Sewing Machine and Cover-Seam Sewing Machine
  2. Lockstitch Sewing Machine: Machine Parts, Threading, Needle insertion, Tension balancing and stitch setting, Setting of feeding and presser foot and attachments, Cleaning procedures
  3. Overlock Sewing Machine: Stitch types and uses, Threading, Stitch setting and tension balancing, Stitch bite
  4. Cover-seam Sewing Machine: Cover-seam stitch types, Thread controls and threading, Fault Analysis
